The Financial Reporting Lab: 2012 survey

The Financial Reporting Lab (“the Lab”) has published an implementation report (“the implementation report”) which highlights how companies are responding to investor demands in relation to effective Audit Committee reporting.

The FRC has published a report by its Financial Reporting Lab on audit committee reporting.

Sue Harding, Director of the Financial Reporting Lab, said: ‘Investors have shown they are open to innovation when it meets their needs to access information relevant to their analysis, across companies and time. To enhance current digital reporting methods and innovate further, it will be important to build on the attributes identified as being most helpful. We will do this in our next phase of work on the Digital Future.’

And when I read the Financial Reporting Council Lab’s newest insight report on clear and concise reporting, it was one of the first thoughts to spring to mind.The Financial Reporting Lab (“the Lab”) has today published an insight report (“the insight report”) highlighting the progress that companies made during the 2013 year-end reporting cycle towards clearer and more concise reporting. The Financial Reporting Lab is an initiative of the (FRC) to bring together companies and investors to improve the effectiveness of corporate reporting. The lab operates in a different way to the more traditional standard-setting activities of the and by providing a ‘safe’ place to experiment with reporting.
