The quarterly dissertation workshop will provide a forum for doctoral-level students who are working on environmental research and writing that utilizes humanistic theory and methods. We welcome both students and faculty from a variety of backgrounds to participate in this workshop. Participants will provide in-depth feedback (review, critique, and discussion) in a supportive and constructive atmosphere.
The Semester Dissertation Writing Workshops will take place Friday afternoons from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The first session for the fall workshop is October 16, 2015 and the final session will be December 18, 2015. We will not meet the Friday after Thanksgiving. Applicants should plan to attend each of the nine Friday sessions.
Doctoral students will be selected to participate in a New Scholars Dissertation Mentoring Workshop session which will take place ONE full morning, either on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday during CIES. Each workshop group will have 4-6 students and 1-3 faculty or professional mentors.
