I am ABD status in the dissertation phase at Capella in the Post-Secondary and Adult Education program. I had a great online experience throughout my experience with Capella until I got to the comps/dissertation phase. I am now at the point that because it is taking so long just to get a topic approved (3 quarters so far) and really have no support other than peer feedback, I am actually willing to switch universities this late in the game in order to make progress, even knowing that decision adds another year of coursework. I feel that the dissertation process at Capella is too impersonal, not explained very well, and too rigorous / robust for working adults. I am starting to become very discouraged and feel like I am not smart enough to finish and should just convert my PhD into an MA Also, cost is an issue as I don't want to continue paying for tuition while not being able to move forward... It all feels like such a waste of time and money.
