Each award includes a stipend, a waiver of maintenance of matriculation fees, and 100% coverage of the NYU comprehensive health insurance plan for an individual. The stipend for the Dean's Dissertation will reflect the GSAS minimum stipend for 2016-2017. In 2015-2016 the minimum stipend was $26,200. The stipend for the Mellon Dissertation Fellowship and the Williamson Fellowship will reflect the GSAS minimum stipend for 2016-2017, with an additional $500.00 merit supplement. It is expected that these awards will enable students to complete their dissertation and graduate at the end of the 2016-2017 academic year.
DISSERTATION FELLOWSHIPS FOR 2015-16
The Lake Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship supports emerging scholars studying subjects related to faith and giving (philanthropy) in a variety of academic fields. Fellows:
Dissertation Fellowships offset a scholar’s living expenses while she completes her dissertation. The fellowship must be used for the final year of writing the dissertation. Applicants must have completed all course work, passed all preliminary examinations, and received approval for their research proposals or plans by the preceding November. Students holding fellowships for writing a dissertation in the year prior to the AAUW fellowships year are not eligible. Open to applicants in all fields of study. Scholars engaged in science, technology, engineering, and math fields or researching gender issues are especially encouraged to apply.The application deadline for this program has now passed. CLIR's 2016 Mellon Dissertation Fellowship awards will be announced on April 1, 2016.
