ACLS offers a select number of fellowships to graduate students at the dissertation level; notably, they currently offer the Mellon/ACLS Dissertation Completion Fellowship and funds for Southeastern European studies.
Mellon/ACLS Dissertation Completion Fellowships
Graduate students who currently hold or have previously held a dissertation completion fellowship are not eligible for the Mellon/ACLS Dissertation Completion Fellowship.
ACLS invites applications for the third annual competition for the Mellon/ACLS Recent Doctoral Recipients Fellowships. This is the second stage of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation/ACLS Early Career Fellowship Program, which provides support for young scholars. The first part of this program—the Mellon/ACLS Dissertation Completion Fellowships—makes possible a year of supported research and writing, to help students complete their dissertation. The second part of the program provides support for a year following the completion of the doctorate for scholars to advance their research. A grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation supports this program.ACLS and The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation provide PhD Fellowships in Humanities or Social Science. The program is restricted to graduate students who have progressed no further than the sixth year of the degree program. (This includes time for a master’s degree obtained en route to the PhD). 65 fellowships are offered. The fellowships will provide stipend: $25,000, plus funds for research costs of up to $3,000 and for university fees of up to $5,000. Application should be submitted till October 23, 2013.. ACLS invites applications for the eighth annual competition for the Mellon/ACLS Dissertation Completion Fellowships, which support a year of research and writing to help advanced graduate students in the humanities and related social sciences in the last year of Ph.D. dissertation writing. The program encourages timely completion of the Ph.D. Applicants must be prepared to complete their dissertations within the period of their fellowship tenure and no later than August 31, 2015.
